More misery for unlucky Glory

(Eds: Changes keyword from Soccer AL AdUtd in afternoon highlights)

By Justin Chadwick And Steve Larkin

PERTH, Nov 9 AAP - Just when Perth Glory thought it couldn't get worse, the struggling A-League club was dealt a double injury blow ahead of Wednesday night's clash with Adelaide United at Hindmarsh Stadium.

Glory coach Ian Ferguson confirmed two of his players suffered slight injuries at training on Tuesday but refused to reveal who they were.

"We've actually had a few problems this morning just where one of the sessions - I've got two concerns now so I couldn't actually name the team," Ferguson said before flying out with the squad on Tuesday.

"The session this morning, I had these plans of what we were going to do ... and then we got a couple of injuries.

"I don't want to tell you who they are at this moment. Let's say they're not out of the game, it was just a couple of things for concern so I won't say too much.

"I've got 17 travelling with us at this moment, so we'll see how the players are."

The mystery injuries are yet another blow for Perth, who have taken just a single point from their past nine games to slip from equal first to five points adrift of sixth spot.

The Glory were already without suspended skipper Jacob Burns for the mid-week clash, while defender Scott Neville (corked thigh) will battle to take his place.

Ferguson confirmed marquee man Robbie Fowler would start after spending the past two games on the bench, with Naum Sekulovski, Steve McGarry and Ryan Pearson also a chance for some action after being recalled into the squad.

Second-placed Adelaide will be boosted by the return of Argentinean playmaker Marcos Flores, with Travis Dodd again to play a role off the bench as he returns to full fitness.

"He (Dodd) is still not 100 per cent but he's good enough to come in and change the game if it's necessary," Adelaide coach Rini Coolen told reporters in Adelaide on Tuesday.

"I hope as soon as possible in the future he can play a full 90 minutes for us.

"Flores is back, he's 100 per cent fit.

"It gives you more balance because you can play with your own midfield with (Paul) Reidy and (Adam) Hughesy.

"That's better than the midfield positions in our last game so it feels good and it feels comfortable with the same system we prefer to play."

Adelaide's confidence has taken a dive following two-straight losses, including last week's 4-0 mauling at the hands of 10-man Brisbane.

But the news off the field has been far brighter, with a four-man consortium of wealthy South Australian identities buying the club from Football Federation Australia earlier this week.
