Tevez back in the frame for West Brom clash

Carlos Tevez is back in Manchester and in contention to make his return to Roberto Mancini's side for the visit to West Brom on Sunday.

The captain's return from Argentina, where he had been battling a thigh problem as well as homesickness is a boost for the under fire Italian, who has now overseen successive defeats to Arsenal, Wolves and Lech Poznan.

Yaya and Kolo Toure did not travel to Poland as a precaution but should be fit, while Aleksandar Kolarov could be in line for just a second Premier League appearance after recovering from a lengthy lay-off caused by an injured ankle.

City defender Pablo Zabaleta, who did feature in the defeat at Lech Poznan, admitted that it's nice to have Tevez back.

"He is one of our best players at the moment," he told the Manchester Evening News. "When he plays you have a lot of possibilities to win.

"Everyone is important for the team, but we know Carlos is a great player. When he is out of the team, it is not the same.

"He is our captain and a great player. The fact he is back is very positive, and we all hope we see him run out on Sunday.

"The Manchester derby is coming up but right now the most important match is West Brom, and we must keep our focus on that, because we really need to win it."
