Mannone joins Hull on loan
Arsenal goalkeeper Vito Mannone has joined Championship side Hull on loan until January 3.
Mannone, 22, recently said he wanted to secure a temporary switch as he was frustrated at his lack of first-team chances.
"Last year I played nine games and with me, Arsenal never lost," he told Gazzetta dello Sport earlier this month. "They brought Almunia back and then Fabianski started in the game at Chelsea. I get annoyed when I don't play - it's not as if the other two do that well."
Arsene Wenger has now allowed Mannone, who has found first-team opportunities hard to come by since arriving at the Emirates Stadium from Italian side Atalanta in 2005, the chance to link up with Hull, where he will compete with Matt Duke and Mark Oxley.
Hull manager Nigel Pearson said: "Vito is a very, very good young goalkeeper who has found his opportunities limited at Arsenal.
"I like to have competition, in all positions if possible, and Vito has some Premier League and Champions League experience. There'll be some good competition there and it's a healthy position to be in.''
