Netherlands call up uncapped Wisgerhof

Bert van Marwijk has named uncapped FC Twente skipper Peter Wisgerhof in his Holland squad for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers against Moldova and Sweden.

Wisgerhof, 30, takes the place of Valencia defender Hedwiges Maduro, who is unavailable due to a hamstring injury.

Ajax left-back Vurnon Anita is among the party despite sustaining a leg injury which forced him off before half-time of the Amsterdammers' 1-1 Champions League draw against AC Milan on Tuesday night, but PSV Eindhoven defender Wilfred Bouma misses out through injury.

Hamburg's Ruud van Nistelrooy is included up front in the continued absence of Arsenal forward Robin van Persie, but there is no place for Liverpool's Ryan Babel despite Arjen Robben's injury.

The World Cup runners-up, who picked up six points from their opening two Group E qualifiers against San Marino and Finland last month, take on Moldova in Chisinau on October 8 and Sweden four days later at the Amsterdam ArenA.

Holland squad: Maarten Stekelenburg (Ajax), Piet Velthuizen (Hercules), Michel Vorm (FC Utrecht); Khalid Boulahrouz (Stuttgart), Peter Wisgerhof (FC Twente), John Heitinga (Everton), Joris Mathijsen (Hamburg), Gregory van der Wiel, Vurnon Anita (both Ajax), Erik Pieters (PSV Eindhoven); Ibrahim Afellay (PSV Eindhoven), Mark van Bommel (Bayern Munich), Theo Janssen (FC Twente), Nigel de Jong (Manchester City), Stijn Schaars (AZ Alkmaar), Wesley Sneijder (Inter Milan), Rafael van der Vaart (Tottenham), Demy de Zeeuw (Ajax); Eljero Elia, Ruud van Nistelrooy (both Hamburg), Klaas Jan Huntelaar (Schalke), Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool), Jeremain Lens (PSV Eindhoven).
