Been pressure mounts as Feyenoord lose again

Feyenoord's miserable season continued with a 3-0 hammering at NEC Nijmegen on Sunday and the Rotterdam giants have now won just one of their last six league games.

Mario Been's side were also knocked out of the KNVB Beker to Roda JC in midweek and the pressure on the Feyenoord boss shows no sign of abating after an insipid display.

Lasse Schone opened the scoring after 19 minutes before late goals from substitutes Rick ten Voorte and Bram Nuytinck put the seal on a victory that would have been even greater but for Feyenoord goalkeeper Rob van Dijk.

Afterwards Been admitted: "All in all it was a dismal defeat. But I have told the players in the dressing room that they must keep believing in each other and themselves.''

Vitesse Arnhem climbed out of the bottom three in the Eredivisie with their first away win of the season as they won 2-0 at Excelsior.

The home side had the better of the first half but Dalibor Stevanovic put the visitors in front just after the interval and Ismael Aissati's stunning second on 62 minutes secured all three points.

Willem II let slip a one-goal lead at NAC Breda to succumb to their seventh defeat of the season when losing 2-1. The Tilburg club must have thought they were going to register their first points of the season when Andreas Landgren put them ahead after seven minutes.

They held that lead until 20 minutes into the second half when Kees Luyckx equalised and then Willem were caught out again by Joonas Kolkka with ten minutes to go.
