Twente striker Janko: We can beat anybody

Dutch champions FC Twente began their Champions League campaign well with a 2-2 draw against holders Inter Milan, and forward Marc Janko now believes the side can match anyone.

Twente underwent a transformation over the summer as they lost manager Steve McClaren to Wolfsburg and star striker Blaise Nkufo to Seattle Sounders. But Austrian forward Janko, who signed from Red Bull Salzburg for a fee of €7 million this summer, thinks the new side can beat anyone when they are firing on all cylinders.

"I think we did really well against Inter,'' Janko told UEFA's website. ''It was the club's first game in the Champions League and I think we did a good job, especially in defence. With a little luck we could have scored the third goal right before half-time, but I missed it. One point is OK for both teams.

"I hoped Inter would underestimate us a little bit, but I think they know how strong we are and they were aware of us. Not only for me but for every player of FC Twente, it was a great experience against the best team in the world, against the best players in the world.

"Anything is possible in this group, I think we can beat anybody. It's a really strong group, but even Inter now know we are capable of getting through the group stage."
