Roma woe continues, Inter hit four
Roma slipped into the relegation zone as they were beaten 2-1 by Brescia, who moved up to third in Serie A with the win.
Perparim Hetemaj gave Roma a shock on 13 minutes and Andrea Caracciolo's penalty in the second half virtually made the game safe as Philippe Mexes was sent off following his challenge. Marco Borriello netted a late consolation, but it was not enough for the Giallorossi and Roma's dismal season continues, with Claudio Ranieri's team's record showing two draws and two defeats from their opening four games.
Diego Milito was on target for the first time this season as he and Samuel Eto'o hit doubles in Inter Milan's crushing 4-0 Serie A win over Bari.
Eto'o surged into the penalty area from the left flank and crossed for Milito to head into the top left corner for the first and the second goal arrived in the 50th minute when Marco Rossi's handball from Wesley Sneijder's cross gave Inter a penalty, which Eto'o rifled into the right corner.
Eto'o hit the back of the Bari net again after 63 minutes, again from the 12-yard mark, after Lucio was pulled down by Emmanuel Rivas for a clear penalty and Dejan Stankovic's superb pass found Milito who thumped a fierce shot past goalkeeper Jean-Francois Gillet late on.
Sergio Floccari's equaliser prevented AC Milan from returning to winning ways as Lazio earned a deserved 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico. Zlatan Ibrahimovic had given the Rossoneri a 1-0 lead in the 66th minute only for Lazio to hit back with nine minutes remaining.
Milan were unlucky not to claim all three points after Gianluca Zambrotta's strike rattled the crossbar two minutes from time. The result marked Milan's second straight draw and their third game without a win under new boss Massimiliano Allegri.
Newly-promoted Cesena missed the chance to go level at the top of the Serie A table after they suffered their first defeat back in the Italian top-flight at Catania, 2-0.
Goals either side of half-time from Matias Silvestre and Maxi Lopez sealed a contest Catania controlled for the majority. Victory for Cesena would have left them level with champions Inter Milan at the top of the table, but instead they were joined by Catania on seven points from four games.
Sebastien Frey earned Fiorentina a point with a string of spectacular saves in his side's 1-1 draw at Genoa. Alberto Gilardino put the Viola ahead in the 11th minute but Giandomenico Mesto equalised for the hosts in the 18th minute. Frey then took centre stage to deny Genoa with five stunning saves to rescue a point for the visitors.
Sergio Pellissier led Chievo's fightback as they recovered from giving away an early goal against Napoli to notch their third win in four matches at the start of the Serie A season and win 3-1. Pellissier scored twice and substitute Gelson Fernandes also netted as Chievo showed plenty of spirit, coming back well from losing 1-0 at home to Brescia at the weekend.
Bologna striker Marco Di Vaio scored the winner at the death in a 2-1 victory to pile further misery on struggling Udinese. With both teams on course to share the spoils at the Renato Dall' Ara Stadium, Massimo Mutarelli headed across a corner to an unmarked Di Vaio who had the simplest of tasks to tap home.
Udinese had gone ahead through Antonio Di Natale after nine minutes only to see their advantage pegged back seven minutes later by Henry Gimenez's header. The outcome means Udinese have lost four consecutive games.
Hernan Crespo's second-half strike salvaged a 1-1 draw for Parma at Lecce in Serie A. Brazilian striker Jeda fired the hosts in front from the penalty spot in the opening period before Crespo popped up to secure a share of the spoils. The draw leaves Lecce in 16th place with four points, while Parma are a point better off in 10th.
Cagliari and Sampdoria failed to trouble the scorers as they fought out a 0-0 draw in the night's final game.
