Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko has vented his frustration at his failed move to Juventus over the summer, admitting that he thought his transfer to Serie A would be pushed through as part of Diego's return to the Bundesliga from the Bianconeri.
Despite Dzeko repeatedly stating his desire to move to Turin, Juventus apparently reciprocating his affection, and a transfer appearing even more likely when the clubs agreed a deal for Brazil midfielder Diego to move back to Wolfsburg, a move never materialised.
And the Bosnian was described as "unattainable" by Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta after the 2009 German champions slapped a £30 million transfer fee on his head.
"I cannot hide my disappointment at not moving to Juventus," Dzeko told Tuttosport.
"I believed until the last moment that Wolfsburg and the Bianconeri would reach an agreement above all when the two clubs opened talks for Diego. Unfortunately it didn't go how I wanted it to.
