Juve call for Inter's 2006 title to be revoked

Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has reportedly re-affirmed the club's desire for Inter Milan's 2006 Serie A title - awarded in the aftermath of the Calciopoli scandal - to be revoked because of new evidence that allegedly implicates them.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) stripped Juve of the 2005 and 2006 titles after the club, along with AC Milan, Fiorentina, Lazio and Reggina, were found guilty of making contact with refereeing bodies in an attempt to have favourable referees selected for their games.

Juve were demoted to Serie B and deducted nine points, while Milan (8), Fiorentina (15), Lazio (3) and Reggina (11) also suffered points deductions.

Juve announced in May they would be looking to appeal the revocation of their Scudetti and in August Agnelli claimed that the Nerazurri should be stripped of their 2006 title.

"What we have presented is very detailed and is based on our founded judgement," Agnelli told Sky Sport Italia at the time. "It's a precise exhibit on the revocation of one Scudetto. From this aspect we are not expecting a quick response, but we are confident of getting a positive outcome from what we are taking forwards.

"It's a complex situation and we have to evaluate many legal issues, but we will show our correctness in cases which are still open. We will certainly evaluate revocatory action and the re-assignment of titles."

And Agnelli is believed to have stated his case when he met FIGC president Giancarlo Abete in Rome on Monday, with the Juve president reportedly saying: "Juve wants answers and it wants them soon."
