Papac eyes new Rangers deal

Rangers defender Sasa Papac is "very happy in Glasgow" and has expressed his desire to remain at Ibrox beyond the end of his current contract.

Papac, 30, arrived at Ibrox in 2006 under the ill-fated Paul Le Guen regime but has proved to be a hit during his time in Glasgow.

The Bosnian defender's current deal expires at the end of the current campaign but Gers boss Walter Smith and chief executive Martin Bain have already opened contract discussions.

"I must say that I'm very happy in Glasgow<" Papac said. "Of course I'd be happy to stay. This is my fifth season but you never know what will happen in football.

"I'm in touch with the club and we need to see if we can find an agreement. My family are happy, my kids are happy at school and that's important for any footballer.

"I feel good on the pitch because things are happy off the pitch. Right now I'm not thinking about moving away.''
