Manchester City assistant manager Brian Kidd has dismissed reports in Italy that Mario Balotelli could be out of action longer than first feared.
Balotelli suffered a knee injury when he made his debut against Timisoara last month, and he has since been sent back to Milan for a knee operation, which was set to rule him out until the end of October at the latest.
It has since been claimed in Italy that he is now more likely to return around the end of November, but Kidd insists the striker remains on course to return next month.
"There is nothing sinister in this," he said. "Mario has had the operation, he has come back and is now on with his rehabilitation. Wherever these other rumours are coming from, they are nonsense."
