Almunia: Fabregas loves Arsenal

Manuel Almunia was gushing in his praise of Cesc Fabregas after the Arsenal captain inspired his side to a 6-0 rout of Braga in the Champions League and insisted that the Spanish midfielder is committed to the Gunners.

Papers: Doubts over Gunners' defence

Fabregas scored twice for Arsene Wenger's side and also unselfishly sacrificed a chance to score his hat-trick by squaring the ball to substitute Carlos Vela for Arsenal's sixth goal.

And Almunia believes that summer talk of a move to Barcelona is now behind the Gunners skipper, with Fabregas fully focused on the Arsenal cause.

"In every game his commitment is great," Almunia said. "He loves Arsenal and in every game he will give 100% and he showed how good he is, and he will show everyone what a wonderful player he is."

Jack Wilshere impressed alongside Fabregas in the heart of Arsenal's midfield and Almunia believes there is no better role model for the English teenager.

"Having a world champion next to you is very good and he is like a teacher for Jack and Jack is learning quick," Almunia said.

Meanwhile, Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has admitted that he is in the dark about whether Fabregas will ever move back to the Nou Camp.

When asked whether he believed the Arsenal skipper would move to the Catalans at some point, Messi told Sky Sports: "I don't know. Every year it looks as though he will go to Barcelona but for the moment he stays at Arsenal."
