Donadoni 'very interested' in Villa job

The agent of ex-Italy manager Roberto Donadoni has revealed that his client is "very interested" in the Aston Villa manager's job, adding that the former Azzurri midfielder "feels he could be a success there".

Donadoni, 46, was heavily linked with a move to Fulham before Mark Hughes filled the vacancy at Craven Cottage and he is still keen to try his hand at management in the Premier League, according to his agent Charles Collymore.

"Roberto is a great student of the English game and he is very interested in the job at Aston Villa," Collymore told Sky Sports. "He knows Villa are a top club with an ambitious owner and he feels he could be a success there.

"Roberto has worked at the highest level and he has always dreamed of coaching in England. Roberto has the experience and talent to help develop the best young English talent and also the knowledge to help find the best foreign talent available."

Donadoni enjoyed an impressive playing career, winning six Serie A titles and three European Cups with AC Milan but has been less successful as a manager.

He received widespread criticism for his two-year spell in charge of Italy, in which the Azzurri were handed their biggest defeat in 25 years - a 3-0 defeat to Netherlands at Euro 2008 - and he was sacked by Napoli last October after just 18 games in charge.
