Konchesky signs four-year deal with Liverpool

Liverpool have completed the signing of Paul Konchesky from Fulham for an undisclosed fee.

• Babel staying with Reds

Konchesky has signed a four-year contract with Liverpool, while Lauri Dalla Valle and Alex Kacaniklic have headed in the opposite direction to Craven Cottage as part of the deal.

Liverpool have also signed teenage prospects Suso and Adam Hajdu. Suso - or Jesus Joaquin Fernandez Saenz De La Torre - has moved from FC Cadiz on a scholarship agreement while Hajdu has come from MTK Budapest on a temporary transfer until the end of the current season.

Roy Hodgson has been looking for a new left back since taking charge of the club and Konchesky had always been his number one target.

Konchesky's arrival has preceded the departure of Emiliano Insua, who has joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal.

The Argentinian joined Liverpool from Boca Juniors, initially on loan, in January 2007 and made 44 Premier League starts for the Reds. Galatasaray have the option to make the deal permanent.

Young midfielder Damien Plessis has also joined Greek club Panathinaikos, while Nabil El Zhar has also headed to Greece after joining PAOK on loan. Dutch winger Vicent Weijl has joined Spanish club SD Eibar.
