Ibrahimovic hits back at Inter captain Zanetti

New AC Milan signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic has taken a swipe at former club Inter Milan, suggesting that he deserves much of the credit for the Nerazzurri's success during his first spell at the San Siro.

• Ibrahimovic attacks Guardiola
• AC Milan announce Zlatan deal
• Barcelona fury at Ibra agent

Ibrahimovic was responding to criticism levelled at him by former team-mate and current Inter captain Javier Zanetti, who claimed he was not surprised that the Swedish striker moved to the club's fierce cross-city rivals.

Zanetti eluded to Ibrahimovic having a selfish personality but Milan's new forward said Inter and their captain should concentrate on themselves, before claiming that he should be given more credit for the Nerazzurri's success.

"Inter are going down their own path, they don't need to think about me," Ibrahimovic told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "But until Ibrahimovic arrived, they hadn't won anything.

"I expected something of this nature from Zanetti. [But] I would have spoken well of Ibrahimovic in his place.

"The train moves on. I spent three very beautiful years in Nerazzurro, but now I am only thinking about Milan, so I will play the derbies to win them all.

"In the next four years this team can win everything and I put myself at the service of my team-mates to get the maximum. The personal objectives come afterwards.

"We are among the strongest attacks in Europe with Ronaldinho and Pato. And don't forget Borriello and Inzaghi."
