Eredivisie: Suarez nets treble

Luis Suarez struck a hat-trick as Ajax continued their fine start to the Eredivisie season with a thumping 5-0 victory at lowly De Graafschap.

Suarez notched twice in the first half to set Martin Jol's side on their way and then completed his treble five minutes from time. Christian Eriksen and Urby Emanuelson were also on target in the second half as the Amsterdammers moved on to 10 points from four games.

Feyenoord maintained their 100% home record with a resounding 4-0 win over Vitesse Arnhem. The Rotterdammers, who beat FC Utrecht in their opener at De Kuip, were never troubled by Vitesse, scoring twice in each half.

Kelvin Leerdam put them ahead before Leroy Fer doubled the advantage before the break. The pressure continued after the interval with Luc Castaignos and a Georginio Wijnaldum penalty completing the rout.

PSV Eindhoven passed up the chance to move two points after being held to a 2-2 draw at ADO Den Haag.

Fred Rutten's side cruised into the Europa League group stage with a 5-0 home win over Sibir Novosibirsk on Thursday and continued their goalscoring form thanks to an early opener from Ibrahim Afellay.

But Timothy Derijck got the hosts back on level terms 11 minutes after the break and, although Francisco Rodriguez put PSV ahead again on 73 minutes, ADO were not to be denied a point and it was secured by Frantisek Kubik's equaliser nine minutes from time.

Luuk de Jong and Marc Janko bagged two goals apiece as FC Twente took FC Utrecht apart in a 4-0 victory.

De Jong rattled a post and Utrecht keeper Michel Vorm made a couple of good saves as Twente dominated the first half without breaking the deadlock. But Twente continued their domination after the break and Janko and De Jong eventually turned pressure into goals.

AZ Alkmaar remain without an Eredivisie win this season after a 1-1 draw against visiting Excelsior. Guyon Fernandez had put the away side in the lead after 35 minutes, with Kolbeinn Sigthorsson levelling matters 14 minutes from time.

On Saturday, Morten Skoubo scored twice in the first seven minutes to set Roda JC up for an entertaining 4-2 victory over Heracles in the Eredivisie. The in-form Dane netted the opener after six minutes and notched a second moments later to set up the win, with the sides then sharing four further goals.

Heerenveen came from two goals down as Rens van Eijden's late own goal handed them a 2-2 draw at NEC Nijmegen. A goalless first half was followed by three goals in the space of four minutes as the second period opened in frenetic fashion, with Leroy George and Lasse Schone putting the hosts 2-0 up before Christian Grindheim pulled one back.

First-half goals from Matthew Amoah and Donny Gorter helped NAC Breda get their Eredivisie campaign off the ground with a 2-0 win over VVV-Venlo. The hosts had not managed a point from their first three matches but were too much for a Venlo side who offered next to nothing in a subdued display.
