West Ham complete loan move for Obinna

West Ham have confirmed the signing of Inter striker Victor Obinna on loan.

Obinna agrees Hammers deal
• Prem pair in for Trezeguet

West Ham have been in the market for a new striker throughout the summer and Nigeria international Obinna, 23, has now arrived to bolster Avram Grant's options.

Obinna will stay at Upton Park for the full season and the Hammers will then have the option to make the move permanent.

"Victor Obinna has signed for us and we are very happy," Grant said. "He's a very good player for us and can play in many forward positions. He is also part of our plans for the next season to take players who can develop. He has signed on loan with an option to buy.

"We came here and wanted to change things and make things better. We have a problem with the financial situation, as everybody knows, the team is in a lot of debt. This is the reason we are taking players on loan with options - first because it is cheaper and second because it will be good for us in the future. We can see that. We are looking for players.''

The striker will not be eligible to face Manchester United on Saturday as he is yet to receive international clearance.
