Mancini still the right man for Inter

Diego set to join Wolfsburg

Juventus playmaker Diego is on the brink of completing a move to Wolfsburg after the two clubs agreed a transfer fee.

Diego, who underwent a medical in Germany on Wednesday, is due to sign a four-year contract with the Bundesliga club.

"We have reached an agreement with Juventus over the transfer today,'' announced Wolfsburg's managing director Dieter Hoeness. "This evening, his father and his assistant are due to arrive here.''

The Brazilian was given permission to talk to Wolfsburg on Wednesday when he was left out of the Bianconeri's squad for the second leg of their Europa League fixture with Sturm Graz.

Diego, 25, joined Juve on a five-year contract last summer from Werder Bremen, but he struggled to live up to expectations and has been widely linked with an exit.

Wolfsburg have long been linked with a move for the Brazil international, and the on-off transfer is apparently now set to be concluded for a fee of around €15 million.

Diego was pictured at Wolfsburg on Wednesday night as he arrived to complete his medical and Bild reports that he will have his first training session with the club on Friday.
