Cissokho latest to succumb to Lyon hamstring jinx

Lyon left-back Aly Cissokho has become the third player at the club to suffer a torn hamstring in the past week, and will be sidelined for up to a month because of the injury.

Cissokho pulled up in Lyon's 1-0 win over Brest on Saturday and tests revealed that he had suffered the same fate as team-mates Cris and Michel Bastos - a hamstring tear.

Lyon's injury list is getting bigger and bigger, with Cissokho also joining last season's Ligue 1 Player of the Year Lisandro Lopez - out with Achilles heel damage - on the treatment table.

Cissokho admitted that the injury has come at a terrible time, as it will prevent him from adding to his first French cap - picked up in the recent friendly against Norway.

"It's a huge disappointment because I really wanted to be a part of the France squad," said Cisshoko, whose injury rules him out of Les Bleus coach Laurent Blanc's plans for the upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers against Belarus and Bosnia-Herzegovina on September 3 and 7.

Cissokho will also miss Ligue 1 matches against Lorient, Valenciennes and possibly Bordeaux as well as the beginning of Lyon's Champions League campaign in mid-September.
