Feyenoord lose Rotterdam derby

Guyon Fernandez's last-minute strike secured a famous victory for Excelsior in a pulsating Rotterdam derby against Feyenoord.

Fernandez had earlier opened the scoring for the hosts before an effort by Ron Vlaar and a Daan Bovenberg own goal put Feyenoord on course for an expected victory.

Bovenberg fired the ball into the correct net 13 minutes from time put the promoted side back on level terms before Fernandez struck at the death to snatch all the points.

Bjorn Vleminckx grabbed a hat-trick to sink Willem II and help NEC Nijmegen maintain their 100% start to the new Eredivisie season with a thrilling 5-3 away win.

The hosts led twice in the first half before Vleminckx stole the show as NEC scored four times after the break.

Willem, who now prop up the rest - they lost their opening fixture 3-0 at Heracles last weekend, were dominant in the early stages and deservedly took the lead when Arjan Swinkels picked out Juha Hakola and he swept the ball home with his right foot.

Vleminckx threatened an equaliser with a shot which went just wide but it did materialise in the seventh minute when Lasse Schone converted Leroy George's long ball forward. Willem bossed the remainder of the half but only had Frank Demouge's header to show for their endeavours.

Vleminckx levelled matters, converting from the spot after Niki Zimling had been brought down by Swinkels, and the 24-year-old Belgian put NEC in front for the first time when he diverted Lasse Schone's shot into the net.

NEC were looking threatening every time they came forward and they grabbed a fourth when a swift counter-attack culminated in George picking out Bas Sibum to score with a crisp volley.

Willem did reduce the arrears through a Lasnik penalty but Vleminckx had the final say in the last minute.

Two goals by Ricky van Wolfswinkel guided FC Utrecht to three points with a 3-1 win against NAC Breda, who ended up playing with nine men as their miserable start to the Eredivisie season continued.

Van Wolfswinkel opened the scoring after 15 minutes before a mistake by Tim Cornelisse allowed Matthew Amoah to nip in and equalise.

Dries Mertens restored the lead immediately after half-time before NAC were reduced to 10 men when Jens Janse received his second yellow card with a little over 20 minutes remaining.

The home side went ahead after Mertens embarked on a solo run which took him past three opponents before passing to Van Wolfswinkel, who shot into the right corner of the goal.

The visitors then found themselves with just nine players on the pitch when Danny Gorter was shown a straight red card for deliberate handball on the goal line, Van Wolfswinkel converting the resulting penalty.

Roda JC bounced back from conceding an early goal to claim their first win of the Eredivisie season at ADO Den Haag, 3-1.

Frantisek Kubik put ADO ahead in the fourth minute, but Mads Junker levelled from the spot five minutes later after Wesley Verhoek had fouled Eric Addo.

Laurent Delorge fired the visitors into the lead in the 12th minute before Jimmy Hempte made the points safe with a long-range rocket in the second half.
