Bordeaux and Lyon both sent crashing

Both Bordeaux and Lyon suffered defeats on Sunday as they continued their disappointing starts to the season.

•  Saturday's round up

A late goal by Etienne Didot saw Toulouse claim their second win in two games as they beat Bordeaux 2-1 and maintained their good start to the Ligue 1 season. The result left 2008-09 champions Bordeaux at the foot of the table.

Toulouse beat Brest in their opening game of the season last week and this result sees them move to the top of the table on goal difference from Caen. Alain Casanova's side were the more attacking side from the outset and Kevin Olimpa in the Bordeaux goal was kept busy.

Toulouse, 14th last season, went ahead on the stroke of half-time when Daniel Braaten outpaced the defence and slotted the ball home. However, Bordeaux equalised straight after the break. Fernando Cavenaghi broke down the left and sent a ball into the area which found Plasil who finished with a back heel.

The winner came in the 83rd minute when Mansare feinted to shoot from a free-kick but instead played the ball to Didot who had peeled away from the wall and he sent his shot through the keeper's legs and into the back of the net for the winning goal.

Lyon have just one point after they were beaten 3-2 by Caen. A week after beating champions Marseille on the opening day, Ismaila N'Diaye's winner 13 minutes from time earned Caen victory at home to Lyon, Champions League semi-finalists last term.

Caen got off to a dream start with a goal after just two minutes. Jeremy Toulalan's mistake allowed Yatabare to send El Arabi clear and the forward lifted the ball cleverly over the advancing Hugo Lloris in the Lyon goal. The visitors hit back four minutes later, Bafetimbi Gomis rising at the near post to head home Jimmy Briand's cross from the right.

Caen, though, would not lie down and went back in front in the 16th minute as Yohan Mollo broke down the left and sent in a cross which was missed by El Arabi but fell instead for Yatabare, who beat Lloris with a side-foot finish from around the penalty spot.

Gomis then levelled again but Lyon, who had Anthony Reveillere sent off at the end of the first period, could not find a third equaliser.

Mickael Landreau frustrated former club Paris St Germain as he made a string of fine saves to earn a point for Lille with a 0-0 draw.

Landreau, who left Paris in 2009 after four years at the club, was in fine form saving efforts from Stephane Sessegnon and Nene and as the teams played to a stalemate.
