Bradley linked with USA exit

USA boss Bob Bradley has resigned from his post and is set to be named the new Aston Villa manager, according to talkSPORT.

Villa are on the lookout for a new manager following Martin O'Neill's shock resignation on Monday, and Bradley is believed to be high on the list of contenders.

Bradley has suggested that he would be open to managing a Premier League side at some point in the future. "I have said over and over that I am always excited about new and different challenges," he said after the World Cup. "Certainly coaching in Europe at some point is something that I would love to do."

It was reported on Thursday that owner Randy Lerner had made no decision and was in no rush to appoint a successor. The United States Soccer Federation has not commented on the reports.

On Friday, Villa caretaker manager Kevin MacDonald said he did not know who would take permanent charge of the team.

Asked if he would like to be given the job, MacDonald said: "What will be will be. Mr Lerner told me to prepare the team for West Ham. I spoke to him today and he also asked me to make preparations for next week just in case. That's all I'm doing."
