Iniesta would welcome Ozil move

Andres Iniesta says he would be happy to see Werder Bremen starlet Mesut Ozil join Barcelona but suggested he remains confident in the current squad.

Barcelona were said to have agreed a fee for Ozil, 21, earlier this week, but Werder came out to deny they had received a bid.

Reports suggest Pep Guardiola does not feel he needs Ozil but, having played against him when Germany met Spain in the World Cup semi-finals, Iniesta feels he would be a good addition.

"I didn't know him at all before the tournament but, when I saw him play with Germany and given his age, I saw that he has quality and personality," he said in Sport.

"Whether Ozil comes or not is not something I have any control over. If he comes, he will be welcome. If not, we'll just continue as we are."
