League newcomers Oxford draw Hammers

Football League newcomers Oxford United have been rewarded for their 6-1 hammering of Bristol Rovers with a draw against Premier League side West Ham in the Carling Cup second round.

Boss Chris Wilder will take his Oxford side, who were promoted from the Conference last season, to Upton Park in what is a plum tie for the League Two outfit.

Elsewhere, there is a potentially tasty Lancashire derby with Burnley travelling to Morecambe, while top flight sides Fulham, Sunderland and Everton appear to have straightforward home ties against Port Vale, Colchester and Huddersfield respectively.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City, Liverpool and Aston Villa were all missing from the draw as they are competing in Europe, and will enter the competition at the third round stage.
