Marchetti 'happy to stay' at Cagliari - agent
The agent of Cagliari goalkeeper Federico Marchetti insists his client is "happy and proud" to remain at the Serie A club, despite reported interest from the Premier League.
Marchetti, who played for Italy during their disastrous 2010 World Cup campaign, was transfer listed by Cagliari after admitting he was disappointed when a proposed move to Sampdoria collapsed.
A number of Premier League clubs - including Arsenal, Fulham and West Ham - have since been linked with his signature, but Marchetti's agent Beppe Bozzo believes the 'keeper will continue to do his best for Cagliari if a move away from Stadio Sant'Elia fails to materialise.
"I am in daily contact with the Cagliari directors," Bozzo told Sky Sport Italia. "Federico is proud to wear the Rossoblu jersey.
"There was a slight bump in the road, but he knows how important Cagliari has been for his career. If Cagliari want to continue this rapport, then he would be happy and proud to stay.
"If before the end of August an offer arrives that would satisfy both Federico and Cagliari, then we could talk about it, but if that doesn't happen then Federico would gladly stay in Sardinia."
