Redknapp wary ahead of Young Boys date

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says he won't take the challenge of Swiss side Young Boys lightly.

• Brewin: The glory game
• Defoe: We can better Arsenal

Spurs will face the Swiss runners-up in a two-legged Champions League play-off and Redknapp is aware that they caused a shock by beating Turkish side Fenerbache to make it through.

"We'll be favourites, obviously, but we have to give them the utmost respect," he said after hearing the draw. "They beat Fenerbache in the last round and we watched the first leg on DVD and they could have won four or five, they hammered them at home.

"There are no easy games at this level. They also have an astroturf pitch at their stadium and they play well on it, so it will be a tough game for us. We've got to try and get into the group stages, that would be fantastic for the club."

Speaking on Sky Sports News from Nyon, Tottenham's club secretary Darren Eales said: ''I don't think there was a perfect draw. All five teams that have got through are obviously quality sides.''

He added of Young Boys: ''We saw them play against Fenerbahce - that was a great result for them to win 1-0 in Turkey. So we know it's going to be a tough game but we're excited about it and looking forward to hopefully getting into the Champions League group stages.''

However, Eales was happy to avoid Dynamo, saying: ''With Dynamo Kiev, there's the travel aspect. In that respect, we're going to Switzerland; it's not so far to travel. That's obviously a positive.

''I think the other thing that we'll be pleased about is that we're playing at home second leg - that's always an advantage.''
