Genoa confirm deal to sign Schalke's Rafinha
Schalke have confirmed Brazilian defender Rafinha has joined Genoa, becoming the club's fifth signing of the summer following Luca Toni, Miguel Veloso, Franco Zuculini and goalkeeper Eduardo.
Rafinha, 24, joined the Royal Blues in 2005 from Coritiba in his homeland, playing 153 Bundesliga games, but has followed the likes of Kevin Kuranyi, Heiko Westermann and Marcelo Bordon in leaving the Arena AufSchalke this summer.
"The Preziosi family has decided to enrich the treasure chest with a wonderful jewel - Rafinha," Genoa said in a statement.
Media reports put the fee at €9 million and he has signed a four-year deal.
