Denilson: Cesc happy at Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Denilson believes Cesc Fabregas wants to stay at Emirates Stadium.

Sagna: Cesc move would be big blow

Fabregas indicated earlier this summer that he wanted to join Barcelona, but he has refused to make any firm statement on his future in recent weeks.

Barca captain Carles Puyol claimed last week that Fabregas would be staying at Arsenal next season against his will and many at Camp Nou have made similar suggestions, but Denilson feels Fabregas is happy in London.

"I don't believe what Puyol says," he told Goal.com. "I believe in Cesc, because Arsenal has helped Cesc Fabregas a lot in his career, and I think that he wants to stay.

"The problem is that because everyone [there] keeps saying, 'Oh, Cesc wants to go, Cesc wants to go', then everyone here also starts to think, 'Oh, Cesc wants to go'. I believe in Cesc Fabregas and this season he will be here to help us.

"We need him. He is our captain and he will help us a great amount this season. I haven't had a chance to catch up with him as he has been on his holidays, but we are expecting him this week and I will see him again in training."

Arsene Wenger, meanwhile, has said neither Fabregas nor Robin van Persie will feature in Arsenal's final pre-season friendly at Legia Warsaw this weekend. The duo have been on extended leave following the World Cup.

"Against Legia Warsaw you will see the players we saw [in the Emirates Cup]," Wenger told Arsenal TV Online. "I believe [Alex] Song will be short, you have a little chance to see Denilson and a very little chance to see [Abou] Diaby - but Fabregas and Van Persie will not be ready."
