New Italy boss Cesare Prandelli has promised to consider Antonio Cassano, Mario Balotelli and Amauri for his Azzurri squad.
Having replaced Marcello Lippi, Prandelli is preparing for his first match in charge of the national team against Ivory Coast on August 10 in London.
Following their disappointing World Cup campaign, Prandelli has promised to make significant changes from the onset.
"I have spoken with Balotelli, but I haven't promised him anything just yet," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I will call up those who play for their teams, irrespective of whether they are Italian or foreign.
"I am very pleased with Cassano's maturity. I feel that he and Balotelli could play well together in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Balotelli on the left with Cassano in the middle.
"There are about 60 players who I could call up, but I can only call 23 or 24. Amauri? The idea is there, but there is also [Marco] Borriello at the moment. However, he will be considered."
