Suwon Bluewings swoop for two new players
Suwon Bluewings have announced the signings of Pohang Steelers captain Hwang Jae-won and former striker Shin Young-rok.
Hwang joins on a three-year contract having spent his entire career at the Steelyard, helping them to the 2007 K-League title and last year's Asian Champions League crown, where he skippered Pohang in their 2-1 triumph over Al Ittihad at Tokyo's National Stadium.
The 29-year-old's arrival is particularly timely for Suwon given defenders Kwak Hee-ju and Kang Min-soo are both injured and Choi Sung-hwan had to be replaced during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Pohang due to a hamstring problem.
Shin, meanwhile, returns to the club he won the K-League with in 2008 before embarking on an unhappy spell with Turkish side Bursaspor where, after an encouraging start, the 23-year-old fell out with the management and was embroiled in a contract dispute that also scuppered a move to Russian side Tom Tomsk.
