Barca not giving up on Fabregas
Barcelona sporting vice-president Josep Maria Bartolomeu has said they are now looking to rebuild their relationship with Arsenal before making a fresh offer for Cesc Fabregas.
Fabregas had indicated that he wanted to return to Camp Nou this summer, but Barca saw a €35 million offer rejected for the midfielder and Arsenal have made clear they have no interest in a deal.
Barca president Sandro Rosell has admitted that Arsenal feel "hurt" after a summer of speculation about their captain, and Bartolomeu has confirmed they are now trying to ease tensions.
"Relations exist, but we want them to be good," he said. "We are not in a phase of negotiation, only a phase of relationship building. Once we have done that, we will see if there is a chance to start negotiations to sign him.
"Until August 31, all possible signings remain open."
