Coentrao not agitating for Benfica exit
Portugal international Fabio Coentrao says he "adores" playing for Benfica and will only leave the club this summer if a "big offer" arrives.
It is believed that Coentrao has become a target for a number of big clubs following his hugely impressive performances at left back for Portugal during the World Cup finals.
Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have both been linked with the 22-year-old, who moved from the wing to defence last season and excelled under coach Jorge Jesus.
Bayern have already baulked at Benfica's €30 million asking price this summer and if no one matches his valuation, Coentrao says he will be delighted to remain at the Lisbon-based club.
"I will only leave Benfica if Benfica comes up to me and tells me that a big offer has arrived for them and me," Coentrao told Renascenca. "If not, I will stay. I adore being here and it was this club that gave me a helping hand."
"If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have played at the World Cup. Again, if it's good for Benfica, I'll leave, but if Benfica wants me to stay, I'll stay with body and soul to help."
