Roma back on top after win over Parma
Roma moved back to the top of Serie A thanks to a 2-1 win at Parma which puts the ball back in Inter Milan's court in the race for the Scudetto.
Francesco Totti put the Giallorossi ahead in the fifth minute and Rodrigo Taddei doubled their lead 15 minutes from time.
Davide Lanzafame gave the home side hope in the 81st minute, but a late red card for Luis Jimenez dented their hopes of finding an equaliser and Roma held on for a win which takes them one point clear of the Nerazzurri, who face Lazio on Sunday.
Roma therefore find themselves in the unusual situation of wanting their city rivals to win and do them a favour by taking points of Inter at the Stadio Olimpico.
In the later game, AC Milan got themselves back into some form with a 1-0 win over Fiorentina. Milan managed to make the breakthrough when Marco Borriello was taken down in the box by Per Kroldrup late into the second half and Ronaldinho stepped up to calmly slot the ball low into the net.
The Rossoneri held on to cement third spot in the table while Fiorentina now have only slim chances of qualifying for the Europa League next season. Milan ended the game with 10 men when Massimo Ambrosini was shown a red card three minutes from time, but that did not spoil a particularly satisfying night for Milan coach Leonardo.
