Iniesta returns to Spain squad after injury

Fit-again Arshavin hopeful of facing Man City

Andrei Arshavin could give Arsenal a fitness boost ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Manchester City.

Arshavin has been out since sustaining a calf injury against Barcelona last month but his rehabilitation has progressed according to plan and he is now hopeful of playing a part in the game this weekend.

''I am recovering and I hope to be back for Manchester City,'' Arshavin told the club's official website.

The Russian watched on as Arsenal's title hopes were extinguished by Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Wigan, but Arshavin has now urged the Gunners to produce an emphatic finish to the campaign and insists they have suffered horribly from injuries to key players such as Robin Van Persie and Cesc Fabregas.

''This season has been tough and tight. Sometimes it was even difficult for myself and the team but in general it was not bad. Hopefully we will win the last three games,'' he said. ''We have scored a lot of goals at the end of the games and we managed to stage comebacks. We have to use that spirit next season. We can fight again next season.

''It would be easier for us [if we had not had the injuries]. I can't say we would be champions but it would have been easier for us.''
