Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic hopes Manchester United will bounce back from consecutive defeats to Bayern Munich and Chelsea in crucial games to rediscover their "winning mentality".
Vidic knows that United must return to top form if they are to avoid their season ending in disappointment. United may already have the Carling Cup in their trophy cabinet, but the Red Devils want to secure an unprecedented fourth Premier League title in a row, while also winning the Champions League for the third time in Sir Alex Ferguson's tenure.
Defeat to Chelsea on Sunday has left the destination of the title in the hands of Carlo Ancelotti's men as they went to the top of the table, while United must recover from a 2-1 loss in Munich to reach the last four of Europe's premier competition.
United entertain Bayern at Old Trafford on Wednesday knowing a 1-0 win would take them through on away goals with top scorer Wayne Rooney reported to have a "40% chance" of playing despite spending most of the last week with his injured ankle in a brace.
"I believe and hope we can find some energy,'' Vidic told Key 103 radio. "We need to rediscover that winning mentality. We need to stick together and we need to play like a team.
"The last few games have been hard. They have been emotional. But we are in this position now and we need to deal with it the best we can.
"We always look to move on. We were disappointed with the Bayern game. It wasn't just the result, it was the way we played.
"But in the second half against Chelsea, we showed a bit more courage. We pressed the ball higher. We played better than we did in the first. But we still need to improve that final ball.''
