Andy van der Meyde joins PSV on short-term deal
PSV Eindhoven have signed former Ajax and Inter Milan winger Andy van der Meyde until the end of the season.
PSV, who currently lead the Eredivisie, have the option to extend Van der Meyde's contract for two more years.
Van der Meyde, 30, arrives on a free transfer as Serbia attacker Danko Lazovic leaves PSV to join Russian side Zenit St Petersburg.
"I want to be important to PSV," he said. "I am delighted to be here and hope to bring something extra to the team. The chance to return to football with a big club like PSV is wonderful."
Lazovic, 26, joined PSV in 2007 after a season with Vitesse Arnhem. PSV coach Fred Rutten admitted he was disappointed by the striker's decision to leave for former 2008 UEFA Cup winners Zenit.
"Left in the lurch is a big phrase, but it is a disappointment," he said.
