Heerenveen have announced Ron Jans will take over as coach for next season.
Jans is currently in charge at FC Groningen but had already outlined his plans to leave in the summer in search of a new challenge.
And he appears a perfect fit for Heerenveen after agreeing a two-year deal. Club director Yme Kuiper said: "We are very pleased with the arrival of Ron Jans. We think he is the type of coach that fits perfectly with our club. Ron Jans has demonstrated his craft at Groningen."
Heerenveen also hope Jans - the longest-serving boss in the Eredivisie after eight years with Groningen - will bring stability after a turbulent campaign.
Trond Sollied was sacked in September with Jan de Jonge brought in on a temporary basis. De Jonge resigned earlier this month with Jan Everse then placed in charge until the end of the season.
Heerenveen are currently 13th in the Eredivisie table.
