Berizzo banned for four matches
Chile assitant coach Eduardo Berizzo has been given a FIFA ban for four matches over "unsporting behaviour" in their final World Cup qualifying fixture.
Berizzo was adjudged to have overstepped the line in their 4-2 victory over Colombia on September 10 and leaves Argentine coach Marcelo Alberto Bielsa without a right-hand man for all three of the fixtures in Group H.
The first sees them take on fellow Latin American side Honduras before a European double header with first Switzerland and then group favourites Spain.
Utility man Gonzalo Jara, however, is focusing on the achievement of his country in simply making the finals.
"We are very satisfied with the achievement because we have some very strong countries in the South American qualifying group,'' he said. ''There is Brazil and Argentina, who normally take their place in the World Cup, and we're also very satisfied with our style of football and the way we played to qualify.
"We have a very young team, some of whom are playing in Europe and getting good experience, and we're looking forward to the tournament next year."
