Agent reveals Guti is set for Real Madrid stay

Soccernet has learned that Guti is set to remain at Real Madrid despite having suggested he wanted to play abroad. Guti reveals Inter desire

Guti has long been linked with a move away from the Bernabeu and, in an interview earlier this month, he revealed he was keen to play in a foreign country with Inter Milan his ideal destination.

Premier League clubs including Bolton were also linked but Guti's agent, Zoran Vekic, has now said the midfielder would like to stay at Madrid due to his wages and recent first-team opportunities.

"It is very difficult for Guti to leave Madrid," he told Soccernet. "He is 33 years old and he earns nearly five million euros a year.

"Only the biggest clubs can afford to pay that kind of money and I have not received any offers as yet. What's more, he's now playing again and is very happy in Madrid."
