Vasco De Gama have attempted to quell speculation they are interested in signing Anderson, who is set to be punished by Manchester United after apparently missing training.
Anderson, 21, will reportedly be fined by United after going AWOL this week. It is claimed that the midfielder missed training with United in order to travel to Brazil to meet Vasco officials.
But Vasco director of football Rodrigo Caetano believes signing Anderson is not a viable proposition, even if his trip to Brazil is likely to cast real doubt on his future at Old Trafford.
"He is a great kid, but in terms of trading him, it is very unlikely," explained Caetano in the Sun. "He has a good contract with Manchester and I cannot keep feeding this type of pipedream."
Anderson joined United from Porto in the summer of 2007 but has not made the expected impact at United and has started only nine Premier League games this season.
