Pavlyuchenko move could be scuppered by groin injury

Tottenham striker Roman Pavlyuchenko is still determined to move from White Hart Lane but his hopes have been complicated by a groin strain that requires a scan.

Lokomotiv Moscow claim the 28-year-old wants to join them, with Pavlyuchenko still looking to move despite a cameo against Leeds at the weekend when he scored within four minutes of being introduced as a substitute but also picked up his injury.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp insists Pavlyuchenko is part of his plans until an adequate offer is made - but the £13.8 million signing from Spartak Moscow is adamant he wants to leave.

"I've already heard lots of times from Redknapp that I'm going to play, but I still remain sitting on the bench,'' Pavlyuchenko told the Sport Express newspaper.

"I don't think that goal will change anything. In any case, I hope it doesn't stop me leaving Tottenham.''

Whether it is possible for Pavlyuchenko to move before the transfer window closes will depend on the assessment of his injury.

"Pavlyuchenko has picked up a groin strain and I don't know whether he will be fit. He's gone for a scan to see if there is any damage there,'' Redknapp said.

It means the Russia striker is unlikely to feature against Fulham in the midweek Premier League clash.

Redknapp has laughed off suggestions Spurs have hit a wall recently after draws against Hull and Leeds, with a defeat at Liverpool in between.

"We've lost one in eight matches," the Spurs boss said. "So if that's a brick wall then let's hope we can keep hitting it for the rest of the season.

"I don't listen to what people are saying because I have my own opinion about what's happening and how we are doing. It doesn't interest me. I just know how well we have done.

"We have just had six clean sheets and one defeat in eight. If that's a bad run then my God! They are as bright as can be in training.''

Redknapp expects a test against Fulham, adding: "Fulham are a good side. They are always well-organised and Roy Hodgson has done a fantastic job with them.

"But we are playing well at the moment. We came across two goalkeepers in our last two home games who had world-class games. That's how it goes sometimes in football.

"I look at every home game as one where we should pick up there points. I feel we can beat anyone at home.''
