Man City's Weiss agrees Bolton Wanderers loan

Bolton Wanderers have confirmed the loan signing of Manchester City midfielder Vladimir Weiss until the end of the season.

The Slovakia winger, who is looking for first-team football ahead of his country's World Cup campaign, becomes Owen Coyle's first signing since he was appointed Bolton manager earlier this month.

The 20-year-old recently signed a new contract with City but has only made four appearances for the first team this season. Wigan Athletic and German side Cologne were also linked with the player.

"Vladimir is an exciting young player who adds further options to our squad and can help to get the fans out of their seats,'' Coyle told the club's website. "The fact that he has a chance of going to this year's World Cup shows just how much ability he possesses.''

Weiss should feature in Bolton's Premier League match against Burnley on Tuesday night.

The highly-rated winger came up through the youth ranks at City and has been a regular on the bench this season, but has only been given playing time in the cup competitions.

Meanwhile, Bolton have confirmed that defender Nicky Hunt will remain with Derby until the end of the season after the clubs agreed to extend his loan.

The 26-year-old has made three appearances for Nigel Clough's Championship team since moving to Pride Park on an initial one-month deal at the start of the transfer window.

Hunt, who started as a Bolton trainee and had a spell on loan at Birmingham last season, fell out of favour at the Reebok Stadium under Gary Megson and has not played for the first team since March 2008.
