Selection feud puts Fowler doubt
The future of North Queensland Fury marquee man Robbie Fowler has been thrown into doubt following a selection dispute with the A-League club.
A-League broadcaster Fox Sports says Fowler refused to play in a changed formation for Saturday night's match against Brisbane in Townsville.
The former Liverpool and England striker was subsequently not named in the Fury's squad for the match and his position with the club could be in jeopardy.
Reports have been circulating the 34-year-old is preparing to walk out on the club with a year of his contract still remaining because his wife has failed to settle in North Queensland.
Speaking to English newspaper the Daily Mail this week, Fowler admitted his wife was finding it tough to adjust.
"The kids are very adaptable to where they are, but I think my wife still needs a bit of convincing," he said.
"It's not like back at home where there's more stuff to do and more families that we know, so she's still adjusting."
