Racing Santander president Francisco Pernia has revealed that he will only consider the sale of young star Sergio Canales this month if he is loaned back to the club.
Canales has been attracting interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as clubs in England, and claims that any deal would have to include a loan - as requested by the player and his father.
The midfielder's contract at Santander ends this summer, but Pernia believes he still has a say in the young star's future.
"It is a condition that they have made [Canales and his father] without which the deal cannot happen because everyone would think he should remain here," Pernia is quoted as saying by AS.
On interest from big-spending Real Madrid, he added: "Madrid don't give money away so when they call Racing [to negotiate a deal] that's because they are in some way interested in going down that road."
