FRISCO, Texas -- FC Dallas has exercised the team's 2010 contract option for high-scoring midfielder David Ferreira.
Ferreira had five of his eight goals and five assists after the All-Star break, when FC Dallas surged into contention before missing the playoffs. The move Wednesday brings back the team's second-leading goal scorer.
The Colombian was one of two FC Dallas players to start all 30 games last season. Ferreira is on loan from Brazilian partner Clube Atletico Paranaense.
FC Dallas opens the season March 27 at home against Houston.
