Montpellier suffer slump at Monaco

High-flying Montpellier were brought down to earth with a bump tonight as they went down 4-0 at Monaco.

The visitors came into the game third in Ligue 1 behind only Bordeaux and Lille but were distinctly out of sorts at the Stade Louis II.

Defender Sebastien Puygrenier (11) opened the scoring and Montpellier held on until half-time. However, after the break Lukman Haruna scored twice in 11 minutes to put the game out of reach.

Younes Belhanda was sent off for the hapless visitors before Diego Perez added another four minutes from time.

Second-bottom Boulogne eked out a goalless draw at home to Sochaux as they bid to claw their way out of trouble.
