Saudi League champs Al Ittihad sack Calderon
Saudi League defending champions Al Ittihad have sacked Argentinian coach Gabriel Calderon following a recent run of poor results.
The decision to sack the 49-year-old coach came following their 2-1 loss to Al Nasr on Sunday which was the team's fourth defeat in this season's Saudi League.
Al Ittihad announced that the decision came after the club administration had an extraordinary meeting where the president of the club Khaled Al Marzouqi discussed the decision with the club board.
Calderon will be replaced by local coach Hassan Khalifa who will be assisted by former striker Hamza Idris, who recently celebrated his retirement with a friendly match against Italian giants Juventus.
