Brisbane Roar have moved swiftly to cover Craig Moore's messy departure, signing former Belgian international defender Pieter Collen for the rest of the A-League season.
Collen, 29, formerly played with Feyenoord and NAC Breda in the Dutch top flight.
A central defender or right-back, he most recently played for Belgian second division side SK Beveren.
Roar coach Ange Postecoglou said Collen, who has twice been capped for his country, would join initially on a three-month deal with a view to something longer-term should things work out.
"He plays in a position we're really thin in at the moment and need reinforcements," Postecoglou said.
"We wanted someone keen to come here and who was ambitious, and Pieter showed all those qualities."
Postecoglou said Collen's last competitive match was just before Christmas, and he would be drafted straight into action for the Roar - perhaps as soon as their home clash with Newcastle on Saturday.
