Evans to keep Bolton reins for Sunderland clash
Bolton Wanderers caretaker coach Chris Evans could remain in charge for the clubs Premier League game against Sunderland on Saturday as the Trotters continue to try and broker a compensation deal with Burnley for manager Owen Coyle.
Evans, who beat Lincoln City 4-0 in the FA Cup in his first match, is scheduled to host a pre-match press conference on Friday as he holds the fort.
Former Bolton striker Coyle has left Turf Moor having led Burnley into the top flight for the first time in 33 years after moving from St Johnstone in November 2007. But he believes Bolton is a better option and is poised to replace Gary Megson at the Reebok Stadium.
Bolton were due to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night but that match was postponed due to the winter weather.
