Fulham confirm Zamora has dislocated collarbone

Fulham manager Roy Hodgson is facing further injury woe after Bobby Zamora dislocated his collarbone having been forced off in Tuesday's 3-2 defeat at Stoke.

The forward has scored 11 goals this season but Hodgson will have to do without his services for a while after a challenge with Potters captain Abdoulaye Faye early in the second half saw the player crash to the floor.

A statement on Fulham's website read: ''The club's medical department has confirmed that Bobby Zamora suffered a dislocated collarbone during Tuesday night's game against Stoke. He is being closely monitored and further updates regarding his progress will follow.''

Hodgson, who admitted it had been a costly night for the side after centre-back Brede Hangeland went off at half-time, said after the game: ''It is bad. It is a dislocation - I don't know whether it is a collar bone or a shoulder but either way it is a bad injury.

''It is a very expensive day for us. We were forced to replace Hangeland at half-time with a recurrence of his knee injury and we lost Zamora early in the second half and we have also lost the game.''

With the news about Zamora, he has admitted that he may now have to consider investing more money in January, although funds are tight.

"We're not being fortunate on the injury front this season," he said. "I'll have to look at it but we, like most other clubs, are not in a situation where we are looking to splash loads of money around.

"We'll be keeping an eye on what is available and if someone is available at the right price and could help us out we would be interested but there are a lot of big 'ifs' involved in that."
